The Company
World market leader
Floresteca Holding N.V. is the holding company of the The Floresteca Group (“Floresteca Group”). Floresteca Group consists of a holding and operating company in the Netherlands and operating companies in Brazil. With around 1,500 employees and 109,000 hectares of land and nature reserves under management, Floresteca manages the largest privately owned teak plantation in the world. Floresteca Group specializes in large-scale teak farming and processing teak in sawmills and kiln dryers. The Floresteca Group forestry programmes are certified by FSC, SGS and ISO-14001. Via Floresteca Foundation, Floresteca finances various development and educational projects in Brazil.
Caring for people, nature and the environment
In the coming years, Floresteca Group will continue to grow into a permanent production area of 50,000 hectares. Floresteca Group has a clear economic mission: the sustainable production and marketing of high-quality FSC teak timber. But Floresteca Group offers nature, the environment and the people much more than financial results. Floresteca Group protects endangered natural forests and animal species via its ecological policy. By ensuring sustainable production of plantation-grown teak, the company offers a responsible alternative to tropical timber from natural forests, which decreases the pressure on natural tropical forests. Furthermore, planting contributes in a structural and substantial way to CO2sequestration.
